Let’s Connect
I believe we all have an innate capacity for growth and healing across the lifespan. It’s also a lot easier to explore the places we are stuck and experiment with news way of being when it is shared with a safe person. As your therapist, I will join you with compassion, authenticity, curiosity, and playfulness. I welcome you, in all your personhood, moment to moment.
Outside of the play therapy room, I enjoy adventuring outdoors with my two kids, playing games and word puzzles, and trying new things that I’m not good at so I don’t take myself too seriously. I am a big fan of puns, but my kids don’t think I am as “punny” as I do. 😉
When you work with me, we will focus on:
Creating a Sense of Safety in Relationship – I’ll hold a nonjudgmental, strengths-based space for you, your child, and teens and I will join you with compassion, authenticity, and curiosity.
Nervous System Regulation – With every client, we will work on regulating our nervous systems so we can change how we respond to life’s challenges, how we experience and engage the world around us as well as the people in it.
Attachment – We will work on building secure attachment between you and your child so that your child develops an internal sense of safety.
Non-Verbal Expression – Toys are used like words for children, and play is their language. For clients of all ages, using a variety of mediums (toys, art, sand and figures…) allows for safe expression of feelings and experiences that are hard to engage, feel, and express verbally.
Practical Parent Support – You’ll gain tools and resources to help you feel more confident and empowered in your role as a caregiver and build a more satisfying and connecting relationship with your child, through approaches backed by the latest research in attachment and interpersonal neurobiology.
