We take our work with your child seriously, and we are honored to be part of their healing journey.

The Real Work is instituting an attendance policy effective September 1st, 2023 to monitor and ensure that clients regularly attend their scheduled appointments for an overall successful therapy program.

Your child’s success in therapy is greatly enhanced with regular attendance, communicating with your therapist, and practicing the homework provided by your therapist.

Due to each family’s specific scheduling needs, putting together our schedule is very similar to solving a puzzle. When you schedule an appointment with us, you are RESERVING the therapist’s time and specific room. We are committed to holding this spot for your child, and if a child’s scheduled appointment is missed it impacts the generalization of their skills, along with the mastery of established goals.

Beginning September 1, 2023, The Real Work’s Attendance Policy is as follows:

*At least two-week notice is required for family vacations/pre-planned absences.

*Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours in advance will be subject to the session’s full fee.

*Payment of fees is due at the time of service. Our online credit card service, Stripe, will automatically charge the card on file at midnight after your session.

*Efforts to reschedule within the same week of your absence are encouraged, if there is availability.

*Attendance when sick is NOT encouraged, however, families are encouraged to consider adjusting the child’s regularly schedule appointment to a Telehealth parent session to maintain momentum towards therapy goals.

Clients may be removed from the schedule and placed on a waitlist for any of the following reasons:

*Two consecutive missed or canceled appointments or less than 80% attendance.

*Two no-shows (i.e., missed appointments without a telephone call to cancel).

 *Erratic and/or inconsistent attendance.

Punctuality for appointments allows adequate therapist/client interaction and also time to report outcomes to parents. If you are 15 minutes or more late, you may not be able to be seen at that time and may be subject to a the session’s full fee. If you’re running behind, please communicate with your therapist.

We understand that illness and emergencies happen suddenly and may require last minute notification and/or cancellation. When monitoring attendance, family emergencies, serious medical conditions, surgeries, and extraneous circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If your child’s therapist is absent for vacation/illness it will not affect your attendance.
